Supporting research

scHolarshipS

Each years, the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law awards a certain number of van Calker scholarships with the aim of permitting Swiss and foreign researchers to pursue academic projects at the Institute in the field of comparative law, foreign and international law. The length of stay is between two and four months.

These scholarships are awarded with a preference for candidates who have never before had the opportunity to undertake research outside of their country of origin or who are embarking on an academic career. With regard to scholarships, for foreign researchers, these will generally prioritise research studies which cover particular themes treated at the Institute. For Swiss researchers, research in to comparative and international law in general are favoured.

Applications for scholarships, including a CV(Europass format compulsary), a detailed research plan and a letter of recommendation must be addressed to Marie-Laure Lauria and must be received at the latest, by the 15 August of the year preceding the stay at the Institute. It is essential that candidates have a good working knowledge of at least two of the following languages: French, German, English.
